If you need assistance moving into your unit, our team is happy to provide recommendations for moving vans or moving services.
We recommend getting at least two quotes from reputable companies and asking about hidden costs and fees like mileage.
To save time and energy, clearly label all your boxes and take an inventory. This will help
you with unpacking AND make it easy to grab what you need quickly!
We also sell boxes, packing supplies and other moving essentials to help you move items into your new storage unit. We offer insurance options online or in-person to keep things easy and stress-free for you!
Moving stuff can be tough – especially when it’s heavy! Here are some tips to make your move-in day as painless as possible.
Pack snacks and a water bottle. Food is not available on-site
Having a back brace or dollies ready to assist with heavy lifting will help your body in the long run.
Be aware of rain or hot weather as this will affect moving conditions.
Remember to lock up behind you! Proof of a working lock is required after signing a rental agreement.
You can choose to provide your own lock, or purchase a lock from our shop. If you have already signed your agreement and locked your unit, remember to bring your keys!
Bring proper ID! You’re going to need 2 forms of identification, and one must be government-issued with a photo included (passports are OK).
Remember to give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the Key Self Storage during office hours. It will take 15-25 minutes to fill out all the required paperwork, so remember to budget that into your time. Or, if possible, consider taking care of the rental agreement paperwork ahead of time to expedite things on moving day. It’s also important to provide movers with our phone number and address just in case.
